Feeding at the point of need

The Modern Battlefield

is rapidly changing—faster, more agile, and increasingly disconnected from traditional supply chains. To stay ahead, U.S. and Allied militaries are shifting toward Joint Multi-Domain Operations, demanding flexible, scalable, and self-sustaining solutions that can perform reliably in contested, mobile, or austere environments.

Babington Technology’s Tactical Off-Grid Sustainment Platform was built for this mission. At its core is our next-generation FlexFire™ Multi-Fuel Burner technology—enabling a portfolio of modular heating, cooking, and sanitation systems engineered to operate anywhere, without reliance on external utilities.

This isn’t legacy field equipment repackaged. It’s a complete rethinking of how the Joint Force and First Responders sustain and enhance operations at the tactical edge—where speed, mobility, energy efficiency, and joint interoperability are mission-critical. Babington is leading the DoD’s foodservice equipment modernization effort with solutions designed to extend the life of existing systems, upgrade current platforms without increasing logistical burden, and introduce all-new capabilities that define the next generation of field sustainment.

From small units on the move to large-scale combat operations (LSCO), and from domestic disaster relief to global humanitarian response, our integrated burner-appliance-platform architecture supports evolving field feeding and sustainment strategies across all domains.

Heat. Cook. Sustain. Anywhere.

Deploy. Fuel. Feed

Babington’s expandable field kitchens are modular, shelter-based diesel-fired systems that rapidly unfold to create a fully equipped, climate-controlled cooking and sanitation environment in the field. Designed for speed, efficiency, and scalability, they support high-volume meal preparation in austere or mobile settings—with minimal personnel and without the need for external infrastructure. These solutions are customizable and ideal for military, disaster relief, and humanitarian operations.

Expandable Containerized Field kitchens

The Expandable Single-Pallet Expeditionary Kitchen (E-SPEK) is a lightweight, scalable, and rapidly deployable JP-8-fueled field kitchen capable of preparing a wide range of meals for up to 350 personnel in a tactical or domestic operating environment. The complete system is integrated into a self-contained, 3:1 expandable shelter with a 463L air cargo pallet base and is easily transportable by air, land, or sea. The E-SPEK can be set up and made fully operational by three personnel in under 30 minutes.

versatility in the field

Built for versatility, Babington’s diesel-fired kitchens support the U.S. DoD’s Single Fuel on the Battlefield logistics concept and can prepare any food ration or menu—anywhere the mission takes you. Whether it’s Unitized Group Rations (UGRs), fresh rations, or custom menus, our system delivers reliable, efficient performance in any environment, from arctic cold to desert heat.
