Expandable. Deployable. Ready.

Clean, efficient, diesel-fired Field Kitchens

A green modular laboratory or research unit with a transparent enclosure, connected to smaller equipment and workstations outside.

Babington’s expandable field kitchens are modular, energy-efficient shelter systems that rapidly unfold to create a fully equipped, climate-controlled cooking and sanitation capability in the field. Designed for speed, efficiency, and scalability, they support high-volume and versatile meal preparation in austere or mobile settings—with minimal personnel and without the need for external infrastructure. Each appliance is heated by Babington’s advanced diesel burners, which deliver clean, efficient heat using the same fuel that powers military generators and tactical vehicles—simplifying logistics and ensuring operational readiness. These solutions are customizable and ideal for military, disaster relief, and humanitarian operations.

The Expandable Single-Pallet Expeditionary Kitchen (E-SPEK) is the first field feeding system that is compliant with the Air Force’s Agile Combat Employment (ACE) doctrine. The E-SPEK is a lightweight, scalable, and rapidly deployable JP-8-fueled field kitchen capable of preparing a wide range of meals for up to 350 personnel in a tactical or domestic operating environment. The complete system is integrated into a self-contained, 3:1 expandable shelter with a 463L air cargo pallet base and is easily transportable by air, land, or sea. The E-SPEK can be set up and made fully operational by three personnel in under 30 minutes.

SINGLE FUEL LOGISTICS

The U.S. Military runs on middle distillate fuels—and for good reason. Under the DoD’s Single Fuel Forward policy, deployed operations are standardized around a single, energy-dense fuel: JP-8 (and its equivalents like F-24 and Jet A-1). This approach is designed to simplify logistics, reduce risk, and ensure seamless fuel compatibility across all Joint Services.

Babington’s advanced liquid fuel combustion technology was built for this requirement. Every burner, appliance, and expeditionary system we produce is fully optimized to run on distillate fuels—or any liquid fuel for that matter—delivering reliable, energy-efficient, and mission-ready performance in any environment.

From the front lines to humanitarian response, Babington supports the DoD’s vision of a more agile, scalable, and sustainable logistics network—powered by the fuel that drives the mission.
